Marlin R.A. Cal 30-30

A friend showed me his Marlin 336 and the chambering is marked as: R.A. Cal 30-30. What does this mean? I have never seen a 30 WCF marked this way.

Re: OT For The Irish

Personally I know they aren't known for their cooking. whatever it is you want to fix, if you'll just boil it to death it will be Irish.

Haven't had much jewish food have you? Irish food is quite tasty in comparison.

Re: Marlin or Winchest sight identification

Thanks guy! you nailed it!

Does the Marbles elevator work just as well with a round barrel as with one with a flat? Are these sights an upgrade on many Marlins and Winchesters?

Marlin or Winchest sight identification

Please help me identify this sight so I can figure out what gun it will go on. I have a forged rear sight for a dovetail mount that is similar to Marlin and Winchester levergun rear sights, except it doesn't have a slot for a sliding elevator. The elevation is set with a small screw on the right tha...

Re: Lets go back to a gun show 1940s. photo

The problem with getting a time machine and going to an old gun show is the Colt SAA is $7 bucks, and you reach for your wallet and only have $5.

Some things never change.

Good looking rifle, and nice scope and mounts. It looks like my Revelation Model 200 now that you took the spacers off. I refinished my stock with a dull oil finish too.

Re: Old Photo of Navajo With Lever and Colt SAA!

From similar photos of "dudes" I have seen, my guess is that this a studio photo and the guns may be props provided by the studio.

Loosely quoted french trash talk:

My reply: Wasted your trip to China frenchies!

This sounds like a job a one farmboy from West Virginia with a 30-30 could take care of this problem.

If you shorten the barrel of the Lahti and make it a pistol it would be legal in DC! (top loading magazine)

Re: Political - Obama's latest gaffe

'We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.' I think we already have one. It's us. The citizen militia. We are much better funded and armed since we bought new arms with our stimulus checks. We need to work on increasing the num...

Amazing! I am stunned that one man can move masses this great. If you were actully using this technique instead of demonstrating historical use, you could use two water tanks and and pump between them to "walk" or tilt the beam for adding cribbing.

I suspect the faces are blurred out to respect the privacy of people in photos the photographer didn't know. I wouldn't think to do that if I took photos of a shooting competition here, but if were going to post them it is taking good care of details. Maybe the subjects are famous or politcal figures.

Texans may scoff at my Yankee bean recipe.

I cook mine from dry in a pressure cooker. Wash and pick over and boil for 1 minute. Let sit for one hour and pressure cook for 20 minutes. Add onions, garlic and salt and simmer for 10 minutes. I serve them with Mexican food.
