Re: Any love for Browning Replica Levers?
I saw a B92 Centennial in 44 mag. today at the Old Fort Gun show. They were only asking $2,200 for it.  JBowen ... you can pick up a Rossi 92 for a heck of a lot less than $2200 and if you're a bit handy you can get rid of the pigtail safety on top of the bolt and polish it up to be ju...

The 200 grain Core-Lokt performs perfectly at 35 Rem velocities.
The 170 grain Core-Lokts work well in the 30-30 Win.
You can usually find a box or 2 or green box factory loads.
Been shooting them for years with no complaint.

Re: Results of 44 Mag load tests with 1873 Carbine....
There's a reason for that.
The 1873 toggle action preferred by many cowboy action shooters though fast & smooth is a inherently weak action strength wise.
I would be keeping those 44 mag loads "modest" even in 1873 actioned guns made of modern steels.

It’s first run guns, some people have more money than sense. But look at ammo prices, 6.5 PRC 20 rounds over 150 bucks. One principle of gun buying the Remlin fiasco burned into my brain forever is never buy first runs . I'm going to wait a while until the wrinkles (hopefully few) are ironed out. I...
