Just re-countour the top of a Blackhawk. That's how the Vaquero came about, anyhow. You could do it in an hour or so with a mill file, then just start working it down with rubbing compound. Just leave the sights alone. As for the barrel band being SASS legal, that's subject to "who" you ar...

I was wondering today about using a saboted .25 cal bullet, since they come in a flat or round nose configuration. I figured they'd be safer in a tube magazine. I'm thinking the new Saddle Ring Trapper will be just right for excelerator loads.

I tried "matte" finnishing the back of my SS sights with a diamond stone, but didn't get the desired results. I'm tempted to try the dremel method. Also thought of having something dark and flat inlayed into the back of the sight.

I wouldn't care where all he'd been. If I didn't have a loaded levergun handy, I'd still have my .45 Vaquero loaded with 250 gr. jacketed soft hollow points doing about 1350 fps. handy. I doubt I'd have to shoot twice.

Look around, and you'll be able to find an RCBS Rockchucker kit for about $75, used. Possibly with some dies. It's a single stage, but it's what you really ought to start with. I DO NOT load rifle ammo on a progressive. It's a personal choice, but I use rifles for precision.
