Re: 1886 chrome 18.5 inch barrel, versus henry all learther side load gate 18 inch

The 1886 is called the kodiak 18.5 inch barrel with skinner sights. Any one familiar with those sights? it is also considered all weather, as it is brushed chrome

1886 chrome 18.5 inch barrel, versus henry all learther side load gate 18 inch

I am thinking of buying either a new Henry all weather 45-70 18 inch barrel, or one of the new chrome 18.5 inch 1886 CHIAPPA KODIAK RILES. 1) WHICH IS STRONGER, 2) WHICH WOULD BE THE BETTER GUN

best thing about revolvers point and shoot. and that is hard to beat. No slides, no safeties, no gizmos to worry about.
I also love my old Ruger security six, 357, point and shoot

my brother and I like the rossi judge, 410 shotgun special loads and 45 colt, alternating,
I also like my 45 colt sixgun, that round been doing the job since 1873, and not looking back. if it was good enough then is still good enough

Re: today is the10th anaversery of the tornado at m0re ok

My brother lives in OKC, and has for about 20 years now, and was there when that happened. We had a brother who passed away last year, lived in Wichita, KS, and lost one home there to a tornado back in 1992. We are originally from Oklahoma and our parents were from there, One in Maysville, OK, and t...

Re: Rossi to Chiappa and back to Rossi

we moved to California back in 1958, that summer, rode a grey hound bus from Oklahoma City, to San Francisco, on old 66. Is Interstate 40 now, and not as much to see. I can remember my granddad told my brother and I to go get his gun out of the car, about 1959, and I was almost 9 years old, and my b...

Re: Any thoughts on the new Marlins?

but being retired on a fixed budget, seems pricey. 1700 dollars. Now if I could just find someone who still does lay a way, that too seems a thing of the past. And most dealers around here don't do financing

Re: rossi r 92

looks like that will be the option I go too. I am in the process of getting two. Either the 45 colt, or 454 casull, and the 38/357. I want to clean up the actions, replace the safety. I grew up with two granddads that carried Winchester model 92s as city marshalls in Oklahoma, in the 1920s and 1930s...

Re: rossi r 92 lever guns

for those that have the rossi r 92, I have a question, Is it better to remove the safety and keep the parts, with a blank, or use the rear sight that takes the place of the safety? I grew up using both winchesters and marlins that did not have a safety, Both actually have a kind of safety, (1) if yo...

I am amazed that Daisy still makes the thing. I saw one for sale in Wal Mart and in Academy. Guess the more things change, the more things stay the same

Re: 45 long colt loads for Uberti 1873 repro

I was born in Oklahoma, and my granddads were city marshalls, one in Enid, and the other in Shawnee, and the both carried single action colts, both 44-40 and 45 colt. That was in the 1920s and 1930s. They always laughed when they heard someone say 45 long colt, as there was no such thing. The knew s...

I like Marlins too cause of ease of putting on a scope, but as a left handed shooter sometimes that case coming across in front of you can be a distraction

rossi r 92 lever guns

I would like to purchase rossi lever guns 38/357 mag and 45 colt. And I will remove the safety, keep the parts, my granddads were city marshalls in Oklahoma in the 1920s and 1930s one in Shawnee, and the other in Enid. taught is when we were just kids to use lever guns both Winchester and Marlin.
