Re: Help me pick a revolver.

How about an SP101 in 357 with a 3 inch barrel? Mine carries very well, is accurate, and has the power to put down a deer. The short barrel and fixed sights are the price of a comfortable carrying gun, but if you take the same shots on deer as you would with a bow, you won't have a problem. I also h...

Re: Recommendations for a Georgia hog hunt??

I'm planning on going in January or early February. I looked at the night hunting but I just can't warm up to it, not against it, just prefer the daylight. I get the feeling there are more "scheisters" in the hog hunting business than in other pay to play hunts. Anyone you guys would stay ...

Recommendations for a Georgia hog hunt??

Any recomendations for an outfit offering a spot and stalk or stand hunt for hogs in Georgia? I'm not interested in anything with a "guarenteed kill", just a fair hunt. I'm limited to the Georgia because I have a plane ticket to Atlanta and my wife is encouraging me to use it on a hog hunt...

Re: OT- Concealed Carry Recommendations

Try Simply Rugged holsters http://www.simplyrugged.com/

I have one for my 3" SP101 and it's very concealable and comfortable. I would think a Glock would be even more so than an SP101.

Okay, I know where I'm going after The Great Obama and company are finished with the US! It's so refreshing to hear a patriotic song. Your sister has talent, can't wait till she hits it big in the US.

Danged Rossi 92 sight!!!

I want to replace the factory blade sight on my Rossi 92 with a bead. That thing won't come out! I'm assuming that the taper would in the dovetail would have it come out the loading port side, but it is in there really tight. Any suggestions on how to get it out? I'm using a nylon hammer and brass p...

Re: Rossi/Puma

I have a Rossi in 357, bought it about 2 years ago. The trigger is fine and it shoots great with 357 mags and 38 specials. The wood is nice and the finish very good. The safety on top of the bolt is like a mmmole(!) on a supermodel, but I can live with it.

Just curious, why do you need adjustable sights on the SP101?

Simple economics explains today's oil situation. Demand is up- Many parts of the world (China, Korea, India) have advancing economies and they're using more oil. The global supply of oil hasn't really grown. When supply can't meet demand, the price goes up. The solution is to increase supply. The US...

Cast performance bullets and 444

Just received a box of 320 grain Cast Performance bullets for the 444. It was supposed to include loading data, but it didn't. Their website didn't show any either. Any suggestions on loads or where to find load data for this bullet?

The whole idea of an ammunition ban is simply a thinnly disguised gun ban. So, the lead in bullets is harming the condor? What if there were no condors? Shoot, shovel, shut up. They don't do anything a turkey vulture doesn't do.

The outfitter said that 300 yards is generally the max for most hunters, which is good since I'm not comfortable stretching it any further. We're hunting from horses from a base camp, so taking a second rifle on the trip, it not the actual hunt, is an option. I guess if we find the elk in timber I c...

444 for Wyoming Elk

Well, I got lucky and drew an elk permit for Wyoming this year. :D The outfitter says to be ready for shots out to 300 yards. I have a 30-06 and 444 that I plan on taking. My question is for you folks who have hunted the West, and specifically Wyoming. The 444 is a 200 yard gun in my hands, is it tr...

That's a pretty eclectic group of rounds for one powder. My "one powder" is Titegroup. It takes small quanitites, so a pound of powder goes a loooong way, and it works for my 357 rifle and pistol. Along with a 22 rifle, those are the two I'm grabbing on an extended leave of absence.
