You can never be too safe or have too big of a gun. :D

My backup P dog gun is a Savage 12 BVSS .223 with an older Burris 6-24 Signature scope. That way I can plink at em at long range before they get into charging distance. Gotta use bonded bullets though.

Watch out, they are deceptive little buggers. I use a 420gr hard cast bullet out of my 45-70 and some of them need a second shot. :D

It's not a western but Death Wish III is on now. I have not seen it for many years but it was interesting that there was a scene where Charles Bronson reloaded for his .475 Wyldey with RCBS equipment. I didn't remember that. Looked like the powder was extruded.

Looks like it was fired in a 30-06 chamber or something. Deffinately not fired out of battery in a 30-30. It would have blown if it were out of battery that far.

If you remember in "Hell, I Was There", Elmer Keith said that the Golden Eagle was the most prolific preadator of young game that he had seen. He also makes reference to it in "Rifles for Large Game". It looks to me like it would be valid.

For the T-Rex, I would hold for a neck/brain shot. This would be with a .50 BMG from 500yds+. I would use a 9mm with one round of ammo for backup in case he got within 100yds. 1 shot to the head should do it.

The key to shooting a Glock effectively is TRIGGER RESET. Keep the trigger pulled after the shot and then only let off until you reset the striker and then pull again. As with any striker fired or any gun with trigger pretravel, if you feel the trigger move all the way back, you're not jerking it.

Colby is in the NW corner of the state, about 4-5 hours from Wichita. We are about 45 miles from Nebraska and 54 miles from Colorado. I hope that we can go next year. Ain't never seen big water yet.
