Re: Colt SAA
Agreed, throats can be an issue with Colts. My 44-40 barrel grooves are .429 and my 44 special cylinder came in with .426" throats. I have a 44 caliber throating reamer and a friend who is a GS and has a Bridgeport Mill. We re-cut both cylinders throats and they are now .430". Also one pie...

Looks like a good off hand group to me! I am also looking at 44 WCF molds. I am leaning toward a Lyman 427666 right now since it is a four cavity mold and it looks like it would carry enough lube for black powder. It is apparently a newer design intended for the cowboy crowd. I wouldn't mind a litt...

Kirk, If you gave the bullet weight I couldn't find it, regardless of how big I made the type. By gum, I forgot to include it. I went back and edited the post to include the bullet weight. It was 200 grains. Thanks for mentioning that. If you get a mould, consider a bullet weight larger than the 20...

If you think about it, with the court's current "balance" - four solid Constitutional constructionists (Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and Alito) versus four bed-wetting liberal judicial activists (Stevens, Ginsberg, Souter and Breyer), Justice Kennedy is now really the most powerful man in the ...

The Remington 66 lever action is as rare as hens teeth. My Brother has one, it must have been in the first group made. It has no model number or designation, not even 66. Very few were made and most are in collections, safe queens and never see the light of day. If you have one the piece is worth $7...

I have both, and they all need a little TLC to make them run smooth & slick. As a reloader I prefer the Winchester top eject over the side eject of the Marlin. Also I find the Winchester much easier to single load from the top rather than the side, and I am a Lefty. I like Levers in any flavor, ...
