I love Venison and always cook mine in a little butter and red cooking wine. I do it in an old black cast frying pan and then make gravy out of the drippings to pour over the meat and potatoes. Never have used marinade, but after looking at this thread...I may have to try it. Just for kicks...

I have one and love it. I trained and used one in the Corps. I have an "Improved" Springfield with some 20 round clips and a Springfield 6X Govt. scope.

If I were setting up a rifle for my wife or daughters primarily for deer, I'd probably buy her a .257 Roberts or perhaps a .243.
The .270 is a mighty fine caliber (30-06 necked down to .270) so it kicks a bit for a Lady.
