daisy the rut is controlled by less light or shortening of the days which causes the cows to go into estrus. A constant heavy cloud cover can effect it but hot or cold not to much. Good luck on your hunt. danny

It was good training for jungle fighting at the distance you engage, first on the trigger wins a cookie, with a auto you can walk your rounds to the 10 ring. The point guys in the blues platoon carried brng A5 12 ga with buck and flechette rounds. danny

A buddy uses them in a 35 rem for elk they work fine, all of speers FP's are smaller dia than other manufactures and Ive never heard of a problem. A flat soft point or even a round soft point works in levers fine. danny

Ted powder is getting better around here I have been buying RE15&17, 2400 and 5744 my favorite for cast. but finding 22 mag is like looking for hens teeth, I guess for fur & predators this year I'll have to dig out a 22 CF. danny

A couple of three that has your powder, I load 12.5 gr of 2400 for a 180 in a pistol and I also use Lil'gun the book calls for 15 grs under a 180 I load alittle bit more. If the bbl is really shot out just re-barrel it, about 260$ from Pacnor + installation about 300$+ bluing. JES smallest rebore is .338 caliber. relining isnt in the cards either. danny

Iam not a expert on 94's you should check with someone who knows, BB ammo is right up there at the top of the pressure curve Ive used Tim's ammo and still do on occasion. If you want penetration get some 173 gr HCGC from Beartooth Bullets have shot bears, deer and elk with them they will out perform...

In a revolver after firing take a wooden dowel run down the barrel and smack with a hammer it will reseat the primer in the case leaned that with the plastic & rubber bullets for target practice in the barn that I didnt want to drill out the flash hole. danny

BB uses a Hawk bullet, I have load hdy 180 RN and used them but a good cast 173 or 180 works on elk & bear order you some beartooth 173 gr cast and load them up. danny

Chris, I have some load data for varget in a article by John Barsness I dig it up and post the loads. Use a Lee FCD you wont lose any cases like with a roll crimp and it takes a good crimp for that round. I have had good luck with the hdy 200 FP over 30" of penetration on elk. danny Found it Ha...
