You couldn't be more right Pard...I blew several hundred thousand of rounds of shotshell ammo to get the elusive 400 straight thru the 80's... cost me a small fortune. Old timers know what works & what doesn't. I wish this *&^(_)&^ country of ours had a fraction of the knowledge, experience & common sense of the Pards on this site. I'm sooo glad this is my home site. I only use a progressive reloader for shotshells. All metallic loads get weighed.....

According to Veral Smith (LBT) there is only one way to truly know the dimensions of a chamber & leade. The procedure is simple. Fill a fired case with WW lead (it's harder than pure lead) even with the end of the neck & seat the case in the rifle chamber. Drop a pure lead slug that is close...
