My Contender Carbine is (I think) an early stainless one. It's got the usual "engraving" of a cat on the side, but it's not the nice one like the blued frames have. It looks like it was modeled after a picture of a cat drawn with a crayon by a 6 year-old. I have to laugh every time I look ...

I only use offhand at muzzle contact distances, and for that a sling is not needed. Seriously, I've learned to avoid offhand at all costs for anything but punching holes in paper. A lot of good ideas here. I will have to think about them some. While I like the idea of a .32H&R/.327Mag or .32-20, I'm annoyed at the bullet diameter nonsense. TC makes these guns with a .308 bore. Why have a .311 bore in the first place? It's just annoying. Should have been dealt with 80 year...

The newer BLR's w/ an alloy type frame require the frame and barrel to be replaced together Huh? Why would that be? The frame would not even be in the equation, for setting headspace. If you want it heavier up front, just put a brake or flash suppressor on it. Even cooler would be a "can"...

Appleseeds are aimed at rank beginners. Nothing wrong with that, it's a job that needs to be done; but when you are shooting at a 25 yard target there is no wind in the equation. The general hope is that an Appleseed gets folks started with shooting, but also that people progress beyond that. You're...

So... if the .357 is harsher due to it's smaller bore, then the .22LR must be really harsh, right? I think it has to do with the burning rate of the powder, the amount of the powder, the weight of the bullet, and the length of the barrel.
