I bought my wife who really did not want to worry about racking the action, checking the safety, single action versus pulling the ahmmer back for double action, etc, so we bought her a 2 inch hammerless snubby from Tarus, no safety just pick it up and pull the trigger.

I have both the 686 Smith in 6 inch and the 19 (actually mine is a 66 just the stainless version) in 4 inch. Both carry nicely, the bigger frame and full lug on the 686 make it easier to shoot and more accurate. If I were just buying to hunt and home defense, the 686 would get the nod. If it were to...

I went to the Crossroads show in Denver last weekend, very dissapointed with the prices....none I could afford! Actually there were only a couple that I thought were in the ball park, most were quite high. One ruger #1 in 38-55 for $1995.

Browning 1895 question

Shot my 30-06 Browning 1895 yesterday, fun. Does any one know if you (or a good gunsmith) can lighten/improve the trigger pull? Boy it was hard.

Also what is the trick to loading more than one round, how do you position the next round to push it into the magazine? Thanks.

Thanks for all the comments. Here in CO you can get only ONE bull tag in your lifetime. It took me 9 years of applying to pull this tag. Knowing it is a once in a lifetime hunt, and only having a 9 day season, you (at least I did) feel a little pressure in shooting the first moose you see. I will sa...

Moose hunt

I just got back from my bull moose hunt here in CO. I took my Winchester model 71 but the area I ended up seeing a bull was an open sage brush meadow so I used my .338 Win Mag. 37 inch spread a decent shiras moose. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c130/dkmlever/moosehuntinCO0036.jpg http://i26.phot...

Sold leupold scopes extended eye relief

I have a scope for sale that I do not need anymore.

It is a M84x EER again matte finish slight mark on the metal edge of the eye piece but no scraches on the body or the glass, duplex reticle $135 shipped or OBO. This makes a great pistol or scout scope.

I have an opportunity to buy a Winchester model 100 in 308 post 64 version (it has a lever!). I already have a 88 pre 64 in 308 and really have no need for this....BUT if I can get it cheap enough I will buy it. So my question is what is the current market value on these?
