I agree www.ar15.com is the place to go for info on Stoner's creation. I believe Gunsmoke Enterprises started a forum, but I'm not sure.

When the balance of nature gets tipped one way or the other there's inevitably going to be problems. Predatory animals and prey lived together long before man started meddling. Then it get's complicated. This is just a natural act in the wild. Understandably if there's an over abundance of any preda...

Ya know I look at that monstrous piece of stainless steel and think there's no way I'd shoot a 45/70 round out of a pistol. But then I have a Freedom Arms 83 in 454 Casull, that's on par with the BFR in 45/70 and I shoot it. I guess it's just looking at the size of the cylinder and knowing the size ...

DavidC, crs posted some good information for smokeless loads in a post probably on the next page or two. In that same post there's an Australian that posted go to the BPCR forum. I just bought a new Winnie 86 in 45/90 but I don't plan on shooting a lot of black through it. I'll be shooting smokeless...

Shiloh was in the process of choosing sling swivels when inquired of them years ago. The last I checked they still hadn't made up their mind. I just emailed them to see what's available. On my Winchester's I don't want to attach to the magazine tube as Joe said for concerns of bending it. I don't li...

Sling swivels
I'm sorry if this topic has been hashed to death, but I wasn't there and a search of leverguns doesn't come back. What is the consensus and experience on sling swivels. Swivels on the magazine tube, on the forend cap for rifles, Uncle Mike's screw in stud and swivels, and the custom style that are i...

Thanks Scott, I'm anxious to see how the sight holds up and whether or not Kirk will make it available through the shop. Cimarron Red, I appreciate the response. The idea with the O-ring outer makes a lot of sense. I don't have any experience with the Hadley. At least the one I recall has a rather l...

ScottT, who'd you have do the modification? I'm not so concerned with my Sharps as I'am with the '86. It's has a Marble's sight and it hits the top of the comb. It has the large eyepiece. I think the dealer lost the other two pieces prior to me getting it. I should get a hold of Marbles and see what...

Tang sight versus stock
What does everybody else use or do to keep their tangsights from beating their stocks to death. On my Sharps I've glued a piece of leather onto the top of the ladder and it works for it but my '86 has a shorter sight and the eyepiece has already put a couple of dings in the stock. I can only imagine...

Sorry to hear about your fall. This year was going to be a productive one for me, at least it was on paper. Beam me up Scottie. Where's Scottie?
I just reviewed Old Savage's post on his buddies Shiloh Sharps and someone says ScottT should chime in pretty soon w/some info. It got me thinking I haven't seen him post on this forum. Is he boycotting? Out of country, puter broke? Inquiring minds just inquiring.
