I think you have a priceless family heirloom. Hope you've got that written down someplace safe. Great job on your first post! Pics, story and a levergun.
You should easily be able to get that '94 up and running. Best of luck and tell us the end result.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of thin bits from Brownell's for my LC Smith which has really thin slots. They are a real quality item and I highly suggest them. I can't stand working on something and the dog gone bit twists because it's too soft.

You can't protect people from themselves. You an be anally redundant about no ammo in the class room and there'll always be someone who thinks the rules don't apply to them and there ya go, someone loads a mag and forgets it's the one with the ammo in it and a ND happens.

The only way I come close to shooting sticks is my Harris bipods I use for my rifle. They work great and only require a littte manuevering. Haven't ever used any other type. I could see where they could be a bit cumbersome to carry and get into action fast.

I've always said a Glock to me has no soul, but that said, they go bang when many others won't or don't. I have two a 17 and a 34 and they're shooting machines. Going cheap on the reloading or going forward without safeguards in place is risky business at best.

Lookin' great. You ought to try and get in on the next great western. I actually made a coat very similar to that one out of deer hide. I ought to get the wife to take a pic some day with me wearing it so I can post it. I actually braided all the seams using the same leather instead of sewing it.
