Saw 2 fair sized hogs( in different locations) on the way to town this morning that had been hit by cars, its 12 miles to town (East Texas).

bsaride- you ought to come out here and look around, its a whole new world and it is wonderful. I was born and raised in So. Cal., live there 55 years. Been out here in East Texas 10 years now and love it. The people are great, housing is cheap and it is gun friendly.

I think it has a lot to do with where you live. When I lived in California the VA treated me like stuff. Now that I am in Texas, it is like a whole new world, they have gone out of their way to help me.

I guess when I order my Lyman sight, I will order the other inserts and try them in my H&R. Then I know I have at least one front sight I can use them in and go from there.

I have seen several pics of SAA with the top strap seperated from the frame. I just don't want to be the one that figures out where the breaking point is.

According to Cimarron this is a copy of a pre war colt saa. I presume they mean pre WW1. So there should be know problem 8-8.5 grains of Unique. I just don't want to end up wearing the gun. What was the original weight of the 45 colt bullets and what sort of speed did the get out of them back in the...

Since I am using a 246 grain bullet, 8.5 grains (like Hobie suggested) should just about match your pet load. Works for me.

Thank you all for the replys, sorry I didn't respond sooner, been sick as a dog. I am looking for the sight to put on my Marlin 1894 (357). With these old eyes I need all the help I can get and I think a scope would look terrible on it.

I was in computer room on the U.S.S. Constellation, about 3 days out from San Diego. They had to re-arm the ship at sea. San Diego harbor was full of security. Navy Seals in inflatables with loaded 50 cal.'s every where.

The one 45 I looked at seemed to look good pretty good and the price was pretty good. I have seen the 22's but that was several years ago and they were a little rough.

Bought both grand kids the golden boys and then the got the engraved covers. The guns work great, so smooth and accurate. The only problem is that my son has now given me another grandson and another one on the way. I wish I could get a break for buying in quantiy :)

Canuck Bob, hang in there its bound to get better and a little bit of prayer wouldn't hurt. The VA said I am good to go with my prostrate cancer, now I have to go next week for some funny lumps under my arm.
