Seems to me that a few passes across a medium grit stone would take care of the microstamping. It should either remove it or make it unrecognizable.

Re: Best pump shotgun

I have been pumping an Ithaca Mdl. 37 20ga since 1963. It has never failed to fire, is smooth as glass, simple, with few moving parts, easy to clean, light and after all these years still works like a champ. I could not ask for more in a shotgun. It has harvested thousands of squirrels, birds and ra...

Local Gunshow

Went to a small town local gunshow today. They have this show about three times a year. It has always had local vendors with reasonably priced firearms. In particular a good selection of older lever guns at reasonable prices. I was shocked at the prices today. I saw used newish marlin 94s going for ...

Re: Truckers - what's the story on these new tires I'm seeing..?

In Korea 1965-66, our old GMC duce and a half 105 howitzer tow trucks had large singe tires on the rear axles as opposed to smaller diameter duelies. I understand a lot of WWII duce and halfs also had large singles on the rear drive axes. So it apparently is an idea that has been around for awhile.

Mdl. 94 Texas Ranger ???

I was looking at a barely used Win. Mdl. 94 Texas Ranger sadle ring carbine today at a small gunshop. Really fancy walnut in the but stock. They were asking $550, no box. Is this a good price? A few tiny scratches on stock, blueing looked brand new.

Re: Your M1A not "tacticool" enough?

The original wooden stock M-14 had a fatal flaw. The stock was weak at the pistol grip and prone to break. We broke a lot of stocks doing horizontal butt stokes, during bayonet drill, on the bayonet dummies. The Army started replacing the broken wooden stocks with a heavy fiberglass stock that was m...

One of the three will cover everything from benchrest 6ppc through all but the heaviest magnum load. I have used H380, it is accurate but the same load does ...

Took a real slow cruise to Korea in 1965, on one of Uncle Sam's troop ships. Food was really bad, the accomidations were even worse. Primitive would be an understatement. I think the only difference between our accomidations and the 18th century slave ships was they did not chain us up. The Navy pro...

H380 is a ball powder. Varget is a stick powder and treated to be insensative to temprature change. This treatment was developed by the Aussies for ammo to use in military auto and semiauto weapons that had to operate in climates from the artic in winter to deserts in summer. Temprature induced chan...

I have heard it said the the 22 long rifle is a very good zombie slayer. The only way to kill a zombie is to decapitate them or destroy their brain. If you have a problem with the oder of some of the cutting agents, such as citus solvent, turpintine, or mineral spirits, you can use pure tung oil uncut.
