You might consider the Hornady 350 RN over 60 grains of IMR 3031. I like the 300 Barnes Original and 64/3031. I don't know about the throats on the Miroku .45-90s, so maybe they won't accept a 350 FN. That's why I mentioned the RN. :)

John, can you call up long gun purchases? I tried it on myself and came up with zilch. The last OTC handgun purchase of mine was in 1968, a new Colt Combat Commander .38 Super. The price was $98, and I have the box it came in. Wish the gun was in the same condition as the box. :lol:

I forgot to add that all of the Browning parts are available from Midwest Gun Works. A little expensive, but the correct solution to poor, lawyer induced devices.

Twice, I have come home from being out and found guns laying on my front porch. The local Postmaster heard some serious complaining from me. If a signature is not required by the sender they will just leave it in the open, subject to theft by any passer-by.

SWEET!! This super nice Winchester Model 64 landed on my doorstep a short time ago. I'm fired up! Thanks, 1886, for a great deal on a classic Winchester, the first one I've owned in many years. It is a KEEPER!

To get it really right you have to install a Browning hammer, trigger spring and trigger. The Browning hammer has a true half cock notch and the trigger and sear are one piece. Yup. Expanded and chamfered. When the bullet enters the seating die there is no room for the case to fit around it. Probably an RCBS problem. I'll wager that Lee dies will handle those bullets just fine.

Aaargh! .44-40 loading woes

Well fellers, I just found out that bullets sized .431 don't work well in my lousy RCBS dies. I had a success rate of 20%, with most bullets sticking in the seating die and crushing the cases. All were once fired Starline Brass.
.430s seemed to function fine, but .001 larger is a no go. :(
