Re: The Trail to Levers
Mesa was actually a seperate community back then? Yeah you could easily walk out of your neighborhood and be in the desert. We drove up toward Canyon Lake alot to shoot....was easy to pull off on the road up there and have a serious shooting session. Gilbert and Chandler were out in the middle of n...

Re: The Trail to Levers
Started with cap guns and westerns....roaming the deserts around Mesa, AZ as a young kid with my Dad. We shot alot. First gun at age 4 or 5 was an Ithaca 49 single shot lever. Family split up when I was 12 and I went to live with my granparents and uncle, and heard stories of Texas and Oklahoma wher...

Had a double charged 22 Winchester Wilcat destroy the bolt and extractor on our Marlin 39a. Case head blew out the gas port and the case body stayed in th chamber. Re: Spring Kits and the Model 94 Win.
Thanks guys. This is the non rebounder. Light strikes are rare. Like many 94's the mainspring tension feels very light, as opposed to my Marlin. Just makes me wonder about locktime as I have to work harder to make the Win. Shoot well. I want this rifle as reliable as possible when we go after hogs a...

Spring Kits and the Model 94 Win.
I would like to look into trying a beefier mainspring for my Big Bore 94, in an attempt to decrease locktime/increase accuracy and reduce occasional light strikes. Mine has been changed out to the non rebounding hammer. Is Wolf still the way to go or are there other, better options? Thanks in advance.

That's a keeper! Yeah, I like a little more weight out front. A 42" long 15/16" across the flats barrel in 54 is just right. 75 Grains 2f under a .530 RB and .016 ox yoke patch, slathered with Lehigh valley lube(now called Mr. Flintlock's Lube), makes em all go into the same hole. I would ...
