Actually, they are precharged, up to 3000-3300 psi. Each shot uses about 200psi per shot. The big bore guns get about 2-4 shots, depending on valving, size of tank, projectile, etc. They generate about 500 fpe or more, shooting the projectiles in the 900+ fps range. A high pressure (4500psi) tank is...

The QB has taken game as large as Buff. His website is filled with many videos and such of game taken. There are many big bore air rifle makers. Some are true works of art. Some of the forums I visit for air gun hunting have plenty of links to this. Its a whole new world.

thanks Terry for the response. I thought , perhaps through reloading manuals and Garrett website, that the various degrees of pressures generated by different loads of the 45-70, that the stronger guns ascend from the trapdoors(being the weakest) up to lever guns(1876,1886) and then into the Ruger a...

OT sorta - 255gr keith style bullets for .44 sp/mag

Are the bullets offered at Midway, .430 - 255gr - three lube bands - a suitable rendition of the keith syle bullet? thought keith bullets were .429, had sharper cutting edges and such. If not, where can get em without pouring some. (I plan to do that, but not at the moment) thanks
