I didn't have to think about what was right, had a problem with leaving her but there was no way to get her out without drawing attention and by so doing, my motives would have been called into question. My 637 .38+P j-frame. Its always near me. Other choices have been my Colt .44 special, My Reeder Ruger .44mag, my Sig 220 .45, and now I have a Kahr MK 9 in 9 mm. The .38 just dispatched a deer that was found mortally crippled.

It is such a shame. On the old forum, there was a .45 Ruger for sale with a 4 5/8" barrel. Should the owner see this, let me know if it is still out there.

I was out hunting today for tree rats and I came upon a situation that I would like to hear your opinion on. In Pa, we are inbetween deer seasons. The late flintlock primitive season opens on the 26th and runs for a couple of weeks. As I was slow hunting along a creek bottom, I saw a doe deep in a t...

New to me - 1863 Shiloh sharps Gemmer
This arrived today to complete my second set of twins. Its a .54 cal (90gr. ffg) 1863 Shiloh Sharps Gemmer. Has a full heavy Octagon barrel and the classic Gemmer stock. The rifle was made in Farmingdale NY when there was just Shiloh (and not C. Sharps). The rifle has been hardly fired and I am exci...

Hmmmmm. Favorite calibers are .22lr (got a marlin 39tds), .44mag (got a marlin 1894P), and .45-70 (marlin 1895). But I can't argue with the 30-30 crowd. Problem is I can't use a centerfire for small game in this state. I have a Stevens single shot so I could forego the 39TDS, and I have two sharps, ...
