Grizz you are right, that's the reason they made it that way. The Kimber will stay at home for awhile and carry the Nightmare. It is easy to hide and I like the rounded butt on the carry model. RR7

I'm just letting y'all know because I have not been as active as usual for the last few weeks. She had a long illness but went to the Lord peacefully. We had her funeral yesterday and it went beautifully. God Bless, RR7

Hunting is not what you can kill but a fair chase.

Being outdoors and putting you ability against the prey. We are the top of the chain as predators. Have hunting ethics and enjoy life. Don't have the idea of kill anything that moves but have an ethical attitude. That is my two cents. RR7

Bullard4075 I got 8 rd 45 acp Kim-pro tac mags, they seem to work fine. The stock one was terrible. I have wilson's for my Springfield Armory. :)

It shoots and carries well. Good to see your back Pitchy. I'll shoot my stainless Springfield Armory 1911 probably a lot more. This one is to carry. I'll shoot it enough to make sure I can hit any varment, two or four legged. RR7

The 4 3/4 and 5 1/2 inch Colts are much more handy to carry but the 7 1/2 is a little more accurate; but if you're not getting a New Frontier Model with adjustable sights to hunt with I don't see the reasoning for a 7 1/2 inch these days with smokeless powder. oldtradingpost.com has some for sale and so does Ebay. The mexican or sterling silver and gold are pricy. The less expensive ones are made of nickel, german silver, or alpaca. I'm not sure when the first ones were made but probably around right after the turn of the century. Most were made in Mexico...
