Re: Interesting article on the ammo shortage
Our local Rocky Mountain Sporting Goods is selling the 50 rnd. box of American Eagle .22 LR for under $2.50 a box with a four box limit. I am fortunate and don't have to stand in lines for ammo. I bought most of what I have last summer before the election and prepared for it. I told my shooting frie...

Re: .44 Mag Lever Gun Loads
Thanks everyone for the input. I will look for some load data that supports the Trapper model and max velocities and work under and up to that data. Want a good accurate load for hunting.

.44 Mag Lever Gun Loads
I worked up some hand loads, 240 gr. lead cast SWC for my .44 mag pistol, Ruger SBH with a 5-1/2" barrel. Ran them through the chronograph and they are a comfortable 1250 fps. After testing my loads, I fired some factory PMC Bronze also in 240 gr. and those chrono at around 1400 fps. I am curio...

My groups are not much different at 200 yards than they are at 100 yards shooting from my .308 hunting/target rifle.

Re: Who Hunts, Shoots, Collects ?
I hunt big game but I'm not a bird hunter. Although I do own shotguns.
I shoot as often as I can and reload my own.
I guess I'm a collector with the number of guns that I have.

Re: possibly egregious Colt SAA question
I love that low bisley hammer on the USFA. Here is my cimmeron thunderer. My ideal configueration would be a colt built "Doc Holiday" with the bisley hammer. I have had this one many years and only remember trying it out one day when I bought it. I am going to dig it out and work with it ...

I need to know the hole spacing on the front and rear sights of a Rem 700. I have a no-name rifle with 1.98" hole spacing on the front and .540 hole spacing on the rear. I think the Rem rear will fit and I hope the front will too. Get out yer calipers and let me know, please. Joe, I have a cou...

My son has one with a broken trigger. He made a short video on you tube explaining the problem and has received several comments from others with the same problem. Basically it's now a wall hanger. I almost bought one but decided not. I hope you have better luck with yours. Here is his video. http:/...

Leave the original stock alone. Later in life your son will appreciate the sentimental value of those notches and your uncle's name carved in it.

My resolution is to move my reloading equipment from my skid shed outside to my bedroom inside the house...where it used to be before my kids were born and lost my reloading room.

Thanks for the replies. Decided I'm going to go with the marbles after reading comments and overall like the looks of the Marbles. Going to change out the front sight too. Going with the 1/16th front bead but not sure on the height size and base size measurement. I have a octagonal barrel.

Re: The Mountain Men
I lived in Afton, Wy for a while working the surrounding area for a heli-portable seismic outfit back in about '82. That is some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen. I remember one time standing on a ridge after being dropped off that there couldn't of been many white men to stand right wh...

They can be shimmed for sight-in. That's what I have and they work, but that's why they are cheaper.

Marble's or Lyman tang sights?
Looking at tang sights for my Puma 92. What are the differences? Lyman looks to be quite a bit less as far as cost is concerned and would like to save some money but if the Marble's sight is really that much better, I'm one for quality and a believer in you get what you pay for. I have seen talk of ...

My favorite is my current ride and the one in the pictures. 2002 Yamaha V-Star 1100 with a few modifications. I found a 1975 Honda CB 750 four that has been sitting for over ten years now and the guy is reluctant to get rid of it. Makes me sick to see it just sitting there rotting away. I don't unde...
