Re: How do you load your rifle?
When I am horseback with rifle in scabbard, rounds are loaded in the magazine and not chambered. When I am on a walk-about there is a round in the chamber and the hammer rests in the "safety" notch. In a vehicle we are riding empty.

Mr. Murbach said it well, it is the gun that determines the potential. Of course the shooter and quality of ammo is part of the equation but to a lesser degree than the particular caliber. High quality workmanship of the firearm always nets good results for me. I have been fortunate to find excellen...

Memories of hunting cornfield Ringneck Pheasants and Cottontail Rabbits as boy growing up in Michigan remind me of what ignited my hunting passion and love of the outdoors. I full length resize using RCBS dies and crimp with the Lee tool. Always trim new brass and uniform primer pockets. Trim after every other shooting. I toss 30wcf brass after 4-5 reloads. I may be over doing it but I'm not inclined to push bottle neck cartridge reloads in leveractions.

For regular use I am a fan of both, leaning towards the .30 wcf for hunting applications. Reloading .357 with carbide dies is far less complex than lubing bottle...
