That's pretty steep for a re-work. You can bag a decent original for @ $700. or less. I sold a nice 1884 w/ a ramrod bayonet @ 2 years ago for $ 725. Wasn't perfect but it hadn't been messd with.

Dug a .357 JHP out of the roof on my first house. Probably been there for a few years ( before we owned the house) the bottom of the slug was sticking out of a shingle at a pretty low angle. If the Butt head that fired it had aimed a half inch lower it would have gone right through the kitchen window!

I think they're kinda cool. I passed one up last spring for $220. that was mint. I'd already spent $350 that day and didn't want to empty my wallet completely. Now I wish I had.


$350 seems kinda high but I've seen them go for more than that on Auction Arms.

Sometimes it just hurts no matter where you put it. I have a 92 in 480 Ruger that hurt like heck with that crecent plate. Had another stock w/ a kick-ezz pad and I can shoot it all day long.

Joe, I use Win. Standard large pistol primers. Also just out of habbit I buy the Win. 296. Just so I don't get confused. I've had good luck with the 296.
