What you need is the CH4D Cannelure tool. Available direct. They have been making quality reloading equipment for a very long time. A large portion of their dies and equipment are not available anywhere else.

I learned to shoot a center fire rifle with a 35 Remington at the age of 13. My uncle loaned it to me for a year prior to my first deer hunt. It was a Remington model 8, hooked steel buttplate and all. After that, the recoil of 270's and 30-06's was never a problem.

Of late, the Pietta Great Western Ii Californians seem to be the closest in feel and function to Colts. While they are not Super Blackhawk strong, a 250gr bullet at 900fps or so will still handle about 95% of most handgunners' issues.

Were I you, I would hold out for another Super. The larger grip frame has always been much more comfortable and controllable with magnum loads. I have both the flattop and the three screw Super (cut to 4 5/8" also) and the early aluminum Colt-sized grip is quite punishing with full loads for me...

Check Simply Rugged Holsters. Not "cowboy" but built for heavy field use. A nice take on the old Roy Baker pancake holster.

For that .223, just call the nearest Browning dealer. They should have a nice .223 BLR on the rack. They were reintroduced a couple of years ago. Mine actually dates from the early 1980's.

My latest lot of Blue Dot is about 2 grains faster than the early Hercules version.

With 158gr LRNFP in Winchester .357 brass and WW primers

20" Rossi carbine-
8.2gr BD= 1417fps avg.

4 5/8" Ruger old model-
8.2gr BD= 1180fps avg.

(Lyman lists 8.2gBD= 888fps) Work up slowly!

According to page 563 of the Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions, the .44Sp/Russian case is too large in diameter at the head and therefore recommends that the .220 Swift case be cut and trimmed to length (.88"), and inside reamed. It is listed with a bullet diameter of .423".

If memory serves, I believe that 1911 is manufactured by Rock Island/Armscor. Remember that Cimarron is an importer/marketer, not a manufacturer.

Be sure to look out for one thing-a 94CL in .25-20. Seems to be the only thing that can make you feel the least bit disappointed in the .32-20. Having both, I grab the .25 far more often than the .32.

My Browning '95 '06 has served for many years. With a change to a tang sight and front blade, I have several game shots from 185 to 235 measured yards. With the sight upgrade and handloads, it will bench well under 3" at 200 yards. Love mine.

Have been shooting a Marble's tang on my Browning 1895 .30-06 for the last 15 years with no problem. If you hold it tight off the bench, it will do under 2.5" at 200 yards with that tang sight, and I wear trifocals.

Played with one a couple of years ago. Not nearly as accurate or as controlable as a true full auto. Seems an expensive way to make noise and waste ammo. Save up for a true class 3.

Find a box of the Hornady .32 wadcutters, sold 400 to the box. They also offer a 90 gr. SWC. I find that I use far more of the wadcutters in my .32H&R. Check the Hornady manual, but a light charge of either Bullseye, Red Dot or Titegroup should take care of about any chore you might have for a ....

Have the shop verify and guarantee that it is truly a S&W. The Spanish copies are worthless and can sometimes be dangerous. Then under good light check the barrel very carefully for internal bulges. They are more prone in .32-20 revolvers than other calibers.

Since I use my Browing 1895 as one of my primary hunting pieces, I traded the slippery factory buttplate for a thin rubber pad for better purchase on the shoulder and the odd time you might have to stand it in a rack. Much more useful.

The only 26" that I am aware of was the Browning and it was an octagon. Since one lives in my house, I can say its heavy but balances well and loves 400 and 500gr loads.
