Re: Perplexing problem with .30-30
Hi Nath, the rifle is a 2002 vintage Marlin 336A. What makes this even more perplexing is I don't have this problem what so ever with factory ammo. My next range trip will include Hornady and Speer bullets. I'm not asking for much from this rifle just consistent repeatable groups nothing less nothin...

Re: Perplexing problem with .30-30
Thanks guy's. Yes the rifle is scoped with a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7X32. The scope being loose is the first thing that I thought of as well and I checked it. The scope is nice and solid so that eliminates that as the problem.

Yikes, easy there fellas he asked a simple question not insulted your sister's honor. Like COsteve stated and we later found out from the OP, these loads are indeed for use in a lever gun. I think that a heavy weight bullet like a 180 to 200gr bullets make a lot of sense still today. Especially if a...

Marlin32 I wouldn't sell the Remington offering short just because it is moving slower in comparison to the 200gr Hornady ammo. The performance is right there with the old .348 Win 250gr loading which earned quite a reputation for itself on big animals. That big 250gr .338 caliber bullet has a whopp...

Just got back from testing some .30-30 handloads at the range and all I can say is WOW I had previously tried 30gr of H322 under a 150gr Sierra FP bullet and sparked with a Win LRP.
