For those that place doubt on the lowly .38 SPL then you need to look here http://www.brassfetcher.com/Buffalo%20Bore%20Ammunition%20150gr%20standard%20pressure%20Hard%20Cast%20Wad%20Cutter.html This can be closely duplicated with Unique & a DEWC as per the Speer #12 & #13 manuals. I suspect...

Well I finally did it the other day, I ordered my first quality leather holster from Simply Rugged for my S&W M10 :D I was going to get a Mernickle but I like the added protection that the Sourdough pancake holster offers better. So to tide me over until my holster gets here can anyone here that...

Federal has resumed the manufacture of the .38spl 125gr Nyclad ammunition. Finally there is some good standard pressure defensive ammo availabe for those of us that don't have +P rated snubbies. I just hope that they sell it in 50 round boxes and not the expensive 20rnd boxes.

So what do you floks usually reach for the most often when you decide to go loaf around in the woods for a bit? I find myself reaching for my Henry H001 .22 more than anything else.

I would much rather use the Win silvertips if that is all I could find for Self Defense type ammo. However the Speer 250gr Gold Dot would be my first choice. Here is a great write up on that loading for you.

336A - that's THREE guns! (Ya can't count worth squat, but your logic is impeccable. ) I, too, think that the old Model 10 is a terrific design; and the 38 Special is cheap to load. I just noticed that S&W no longer has the M57 in they're line up. I hope that this is not a sign of things to come, as the .41 magnum is by far my very favorite handgun cartridge. I hope that someone else will pick up the slack and produce a quality DA 6 shot .41 mag.

Yup they did make a boat load of them. But I wouldn't call them inadequte due to a steady diet of of .357 magnum ammo. As far as I know they recieved that bad rap due to the 125gr full house loads. Nothing sillier than an adjustable rear sight on that type of gun. That's a urban myth/sterotype. If you want to hit something, you have to aim and adjustable sights are more useful in making a gun accurate. There, it dosen't seem so silly now does it? :D 8) Please don't tell my S&W M10 that. I...
