I should say the condition is more close to being Like NIB. My father did shoot it some but not to any great extent. I can't recall a time when my father ever pulled it from the safe to go to the range with it. Pete maybe some day I will have a cylinder in .22LR for it. But it won't be anytime soon,...

OT- S&W M51 opinions

So what are your opinions of this little revolver.? I inherited one of these from my father and it is in NIB condition. I have not shot it yet because I have more fun shooting .22LR. The price of ammo for the .22 WMR is just unreal IMHO were plinking is concerned. So what is everyones thoughts here ...

First deer that i got was when I was 16. I used my Mossberg 500 12 GA with the then new Win sabot slug. The shot was 60yd, the doe dropped at the shot and didn't even twitch.

I have always relished the idea of carrying a big bore revolver while hunting. However the fact of the matter is I'm not a pistoleer in any sense of the word. Now go ahead and add a angry bear, stress, and adenaline on top of that. I hihgly doubt I could hit the darn thing unless it was chewing on m...

Henry H001 groups.

Ok fellas I've been bitten by the .22JR bug once again and can't wait to hit the woods with my Henry Hoo1. For those of you with this model rifle what kind of groups do you get at 50yd.? I typically get about an inch for 5 shots with CCI Mini mags and Velocitiors. I haven't tried any subsonic or tar...

jd45 it very well could have been going supersonic, I don't own a chrony yet :( , so I don't know for sure. I'm going to kind of clue everyone in to what the charge weight is without posting it. If anyone has a Lyman load book notice what the max charge weight is with Unique for a 158gr bullet, and ...

My two go to loads is now the one posted above, and a 158gr cast SWC over 4.6gr of Unique. That being said, practice with your reloads, but buy a box or 2 of factory loads for serious social purposed. Don't give a prosecutor or detective who may have ulterior motives any fodder to build a case on yo...

Regarding the powder charges: I have several that I've used for many years that are no longer shown in the current loading manuals. I've always considered it this way; if they were good and safe then, they still are. Using the old caution to back down from the max charge and work up from there, I'v...

OT- my .38 SPL "FBI" Load attempt. (Hornady SWCHP)

Yesterday I went to the range with my S&W M10 to try out my work up loads, using the Hornady 158gr SWCHP. I noticed as I approached the max load, that there was a very noticeable crack in the sound of the muzzle report. :D Much more so than what the muzzle report sounds like from my general purp...

Here is the range report with the new barrel installed. It shot so much better than last time I am still tickled about it. It was quite windy out today but I was able to get some good groups in. All shooting was done standing unsupported using a two hand hold at 15yd, and in single action mode. I al...

Ok here is a pic of my M10, it was taken before the repair work but is the best one I have. It still looks the same though. J Miller why is your 25-5 not under warranty?, is it because it is one of the older models?.

OT - My S&W M10 is back.

On Sept 5 I sent my M10 of for warranty repair work. I found that the rifiling at the crown of the muzzle was irregular. :x I called S&W customer service and had a return shipping label the next day sent to my email address. I boxed my M10 up and sent it away as described in the detailed instruc...

Rumor is Henry will bring out a 30-30 in 2008

I read this over a Rim fire Central, not many details at all. Just that it has been heard through the grape vine. Anyway it will be interesting to see what it will look like, and I'm sure it will be a great product.

I could not believe it when the Dr. and I were talking about what may be wrong, and the solutions. I had to of course go get X-rays, I will have to wait till Monday for the results as the radiologist called in sick ( just my luck). So now I'm stuck wearing this stupid brace to immobilize my w...

Your camping woods sidearm question.

Ok I know that I posted a similiar thread on Leverguns before on this subject. But here is a twist, what do you use and have you ever had to use it to defend yourself, your camp, or others with you from certain vermin.Things such as coyotes and such.

LeverBob, sorry that I can't offer any more help. I don't have a .444 Marlin yet but someday I will rectify that. Thing is there just ain't nothin' around my parts that warrants that much killin'. But there is just something about the .444 that keeps calling to me.

It is my humble opinion only, but anyone owning a .444 should read Marshall Stantons' tech notes on his site. He has a III part series apptly called " The .444 Marlin Americas most versatile big bore". Leverbob here is a link to some load data you requested. http://www.beartoothbullets.com...
