Re: What do you carry in your 38 Special?

I've been going back and forth lately between my 380 and 38 snubby for my carry gun. I've not spent the money for premium self defense ammo for the 38 though. I've just been carrying it with 158 gr. cast swc loaded to +P specs. Haven't had time to do any ballistic gel testing with the 38 yet, so wh...

A single shot pistol, rifle or shotgun becomes a very ineffective CLUB after the first shot is fired. In a situation that has become up-close and personal.. That is why God invented repeaters..! Shotgun ammunition is too heavy and bulky to be seriously considered.. I'd rather be overgunned than und...

Re: Choose one rifle for me to carry on extended backpack tr

Given the requirements of the OP I don't forsee any rifle filling those all of those needs. For the intended purpose here I think the best choice would be a 20GA single shot shotgun such as the NEF pardner. With the given requirements there is nothing that this platform can't handle and it is nice a...

Re: You have one firearm to survive what is it?

If I had to rely on just one it would be a single shot shotgun preferably in 20GA and modified choke. The reason I say 20GA is I used to have a H&R 12GA Pardner, and the recoil from that thing with anything other than 1oz loads was down right awful. Contrary to what some folks would lead others ...

Iceman, it is plain smooth bore modified choked barrel with a bead sight. I like the smooth bore due to simplicity, load er' with slugs and I'm set for big game, switch out to birdshot and I'm good for upland game. That and I highly detest the $2+ price tag that accomopanies sabot slug ammunition.
