Re: The joke is on me.
I hate deer hunting in warm weather. WHY, it takes a whole lot of time off how long you have to process the deer. I think it was about 60 F when I shot my buck this year in KS. I prefer the temps ranging 25-30 F. WHY, because the ground is good and frozen and I dont get stuck! Ideal weather for the ...

Re: Bought a Remington 760 today. Don't know much about them
I had the semi auto version in a 742 Carbine version in .308. It was quickly traded, the 18" barrel was horrible for accuracy with any bullet. I would shoot it first and see how it holds 4" off a barrel is not enough for me to sacrifice accuracy. My FIL has the 7400 in 30-06 and it shoots ...

Re: Primer Plant in Texas staffing soon-400 staff by 2023
I went to one of my steady suppliers for reloading supplies today. Last time I was there I got large rifle primers for $8 per 100. Today, they were asking $150 per thousand and would not break a box open. I think it is time to find a new supplier. Looking forward to this getting off the ground.

Re: I bet it's loud........
I have been considering a .350 in an AR. Primary reasons is more power than a 5.56 and it seems to be reloader friendly. My only hesitation is I am underwhelmed with the accuracy and right now the high prices of ammo and the .350 just made a big jump. For the kind of money it would cost, I might as ...

Back in the 70s it was typical to find them for less than .02 cents a round, probably closer to a penny. I dont think anyone ever thought of buying a whole brick. They were always sitting on the counter at the hardware store. Buy as many as you want, never needed more than a box or two.

The birdshead model in Nickel definitely got my attention. I already have a full size 1873 in .22 LR/.22 MAG Combo. Just my opinion, but I think the .22 LR actually does better out of mine. Here is an article by Chuck Hawks that talks about the 4006 and the .40 S&W being released at the same time. When the gun first came out, it was pushing 180 gr at approx. 1200 FPS. Sounds like it will definitely handle +P ammo.

I know in the military cemeteries, the spouse of the service member is buried either below or on top based on who passed first. I would ask the cemetery where your dad is at if this might be possible. You might have to go with a slightly smaller headstone.

This shot pretty good from the factory as well. However, the rear sight was kicked way to the right and it still wasnt feeling right to me. One of the things that Jeff does is sets the barrel to be true dead center. I picked the grips up off of a group I am on on FaceBook. SACK PETERSON is the maker.

It was the lowest pressure load listed at around 33K, the rest were all right about 40K of pressure....

For concealed carry I would go with a quality leather holster with a horsehide lining. Even better if it is boned (molded to the shape of the gun). I recently purchased one from Plumb Creek Leather on FB for a very reasonable price. I would post a pic, but I dont have a website for a url.
