Re: Ballistics High Speed accident.
They really need to read more Army Ground Accident Reports or QASAS reports regarding ammunition issues. However, I think that was a foreign rocket and not US. Somethings shouldn't be played with even by those that might consider themselves SAFE or even an EXPERT.

Ruger to the best of my knowledge has always been pretty good on their warranty. HOWEVER, I would send it to Jeff Ault at Munden Sixgun Magic. I was about ready to sell my Ruger Flattop but decided to suck it up and spend the money. It was truly the best money I have ever spent on a gun. Here is a V...

Re: oldest or earliest born folks you talked to
Back around 1987, the unit I was in was having a gunnery exercise and brought out Veterans from Vietnam, Korea, WWII, and WWI. There were only two veterans from WWI that were there that day. The most impressive story that they told was during battle they would occasionally lose the ability to elevat...

I was just reading that assembly line workers at Ruger start at $11.50 an hour and tool makers start around $18 an hour. Their machine operators are sitting at about 26% less than the national average for their job skills. IMO, that equates to dissatisfied workers that probably took the job to get b...

I have the Marlin 336 in 30-30 and the Marlin 1894 .44 mag with 20" barrels. My FIL has a Winchester Trapper with the 16" barrel. IMO, the shorter barrels tend to shoot higher, at least for me. I dont think 4" makes a gun anymore handy and honestly to me makes it feel awkward. I will ...

A .50 cal round ball only weights about 177 grains and average velocity for deer loads are about 1500 fps. I have put one through a deer on both sides before at about 75 yards. My first association with cap and ball pistols was while doing reenactments as a cavalry soldier. You cant beat those old carbon steel blades (1095). They sharpen up pretty quick on a butcher steel. You probably still have at least one old circular saw blade laying around. They make excellent blades that will sharpen right up.
