We're about 95% calved out. Had 1.5 inches of rain and 6 inches of wet snow in a 40 mph wind on Good Friday. Power was out for a day and a half, parts of my county will be with out power for 2 more weeks. Moved pairs from the storm pasture out to the spring pasture, now I watch for scours, pneumonia...

Yes jdad, the 25-20 SS and 25-20 WCF are different cartridges, but as strong as the lowall action is you can use the same reloading data for either. 86 gr. bullet with 5 gr. Unique, 10 gr. 2400, 8.5 gr. 4227, 8.5 gr. SR-4759. Enjoy

50-90s and other large caliber rifles with crescent buttplates are designed to be tucked into the shoulder in order to absorb the recoil. The curve of the buttplate matches the curve of the shoulder. Target rifles with schuetzen or swiss buttplates were made to fit above the bicep but they were seld...

That 1895 you found for me was a standard rifle in 45-90 so I didn't bother lettering it. I only letter deluxes or rifles with special order features. Every so often you will find a rifle that wasn't recorded in the factory book. Keep your eye out for more good old Marlins...thanks again.

I'd use a neck rope on the horse so he can't face away from what's happening. I know a couple of local cowboys who roped calves to treat them, momma cow charged the horse, the horse took off for home, dragging to death the calf on the end of the rope.
