Good on you!

I had a similar post, where I was calling the AR platform "commodity guns".

Assembling a working, sub-half kilo-buck shooter is a piece of cake these days, which kind of showing you where the AR market is going. Or at, right now.

Fifteen years ago, who would have thunk it?

Remains to be seen... Bronco not out till 2020? and Ranger at 2019? Guessing Ford will drop the Explorer since they're both same size. And Bronco will be mid-size, not the old style large war wagon. I'll take a good look at the Ranger. I'm on a 2012 F-150 right now, but something smaller and handier...

How this all started...(please bear with me...) Kenny Lane's (a.k.a. wirecutter) blog had someone asking about low end .45/1911 advice. Majority of replies said with budget constraints of the poster to take a look at the Rock Island Armory handguns. One guy said Rural King site (rkguns.com) carried ...

Get a standard issue grip, it's cheap, until you've looked at a lot of others and decide what you want.

Magpul makes some good starter sights.

Both sights sit on the one rail, or one sits on the back rail, one on the gas block rail? If the latter, you've got a half an inch offset to make up.
