Re: What Changed?

I once heard that the 32-20 was the basis for the 30carbine in rimless and pressure raised. Must be a pretty good
cartridge. That true?

Re: what gun you wish

Back in the early 80's I had the chance to buy legally from a class3 dealer a real "BAR" for $960. A lot of money then.
But it is THE ASSAULT RIFLE. Just ask any German soldier which American weapon they feared most.

Re: OT - Shafted on Colt SAA

Will be going to the range tomorrow with the Colt. Got some 200gr swc cowboy loads to see if they shoot any lower. The guy from Atlanta Arms Ammo said they were real wimp loads at 720fps. He said that was what the SASS people liked. I have looked at all the pics on the net of SAA guns. I still cant ...

OK, I'll love it and shoot it. Now please explain this. How is it that after almost 40 years of shooting pistols I have
just recently "discovered" Colt SAA's?

Re: Shafted on Colt SAA-OT

The missing blue is actually on the side of the cylinder, near the end between the flutes. I have never seen this before with a revolver. This is my first Colt SAA. I have owned other Colt revolvers and other single actions. I called Colt customer service today. They referred me to the custom shop. ...

OT - Shafted on Colt SAA

Went to the range with my ''new'' Colt SAA today. It shoots great. A little high and to the right. Will try some other ammo brands to bring it in. Came home and gently cleaned it with Rem Oil and a soft cotton rag. There was a spot of carbon on the front edge between the flutes on the cylinder. Somet...

The Social Security people have said they will send me $1502 per month if I quit work. My boss at work says it will cost me considerably MORE to stay home. My ''real'' boss. The one I live with. The one that keeps THE check book says if I retire, quote." No more new TOYS". So, at the eve o...

Re: OT - Self defense handgun recommendation needed...

I have a Smith mod15 2''. My daughter loves to shoot it. I guess she likes it because it feels like her mod48. The only gun I own that she has made any mention of having a ''jump'' is a Beretta 84 single stack 380acp. I also have the Beretta's twin in 22lr. The 22 is much more pleasent to shoot. I p...

Heres what worked for me and mine. I bought a mod36 smith for my wife on our first Xmas. Took her and had her shoot it w/no earplugs. Big mistake. She didnt touch it again for 7-8 yrs. Then sent her to a handgun class with the girl across the street. She ended up scoring 86 at the range. The girl ac...

I like the political posts. Just think just maybe some our judges read sometimes. They need to know what others think too. I am sure they know te news media is no reliable source of opinion. I know that their decisions are based on interpreting the law. Laws are nothing more than men's of the way th...

It does have the box. Ser-S17xxxA I did some research on the net last nite. Seems the 3rd gen sn is after 93 when they reached SA99999. Started S02000A. There is also an UNOFFICIAL 4th gen where they changed the cyl pin or bushing back to what it used to be in 1 and 2 gen guns. This was done after s...

OT - 2gen or 3gen Colt

I am wanting to own a Colt saa. Have never owned one before. I plan to shoot the gun. So it can be 90%+. Cal will be .44 or 38-357 to keep ammo simple.
My question is the dif between 2nd and 3rd gen. ?
