The .303 is famous for case stretching. Have you miked the cases before and after each firing/loading? Neck sizing should help, but it won't solve the problem in the SMLE.

I like 3031 and 748 for the .30-30, but have a .35 Rem. on the way and have heard that AA 2520 is tough to beat.

Man, I'm a mess after reading this. We have four dogs, and I have just found three soft lumps on the left flank of my 8-year-old Brittany, Doctor Watson.

Jason: I simply called Huntington's and ordered a bag of 100 virgin R-P .30 Remington cases. They had them in stock.
Now I'll have to find an appropriate Lyman or Marble's tang sight ... :D

Those prices do look a bit high, but I can sure remember reading those ads in the gun magazines while waiting for a haircut. The barber wouldn't let me read some of the -- ahem -- "other" magazines because I was too young.

.30 Rem brass and RCBS No. 19 shellholder

Just got a batch of R-P .30 Remington brass from Huntingtons, and it won't quite fit in the RCBS No. 19 shellholder. Anyone else have this problem with any of the Remington auto rifle cartridges, or with the new 6.8 SPC, which is based on the .30 Rem. case?

Thanks guys. I have most of the manuals, including the latest Hornady. My barrel is 26 inches, so I am hoping to get close to 2500 with the 117. Hope it shoots well as it is a good design for a tubular magazine.

I am unaware of any effort by federal or state government to restrict civilian access to loading components.
At the Sportsman's Warehouse where I work, Federal small pistol Gold Medal match primers are $34.99 per 1,000, and various other non-match primers are $27-$30 per 1,000 when we have them.

Might also want to investigate the use of Trail Boss, as the high bulk nature of this powder would tend to eliminate any powder positioning problems.

I'm glad to see choice in the marketplace, but really prefer my leverguns in rifle calibers to have barrels of 24 inches or more. I especially love it when the .30 WCF is really allowed to show its stuff and perform in a 26-inch barrel.

We had to do this a couple of years ago with a dog we adopted that proved to be very aggressive -- too much so for the humane society to accept her. I felt like such a heel, but I know it was the right thing to do, and the vet absolutely agreed. Glad your family is OK.
