That gun will handle heavier loads than what you want to shoot much of out of it :!: There's precious little difference in outside cylinder wall thickness between my New Vaquero, and my worn out ol blackhawk. Think of the 71 as a Model '86 Extra Light with a pistol-grip stock. The Rifle has a 24" barrel; the Carbine sports a 22" tube. Chambered in .348 Winchester only...

A little dab of white Lithium greas on the pin and the ends of the cylinder. Clean it off after shooting, and apply a fresh dab or two... Basically the stuff they use to assemble new or reworked car engines. If that bothers you a little, maybe a dab of the Lithium to the brain-stem might be in order...
