Re: Rossi .454 question
Thanks one and all for your sage advice. It is sincerely appreciated. I was originally looking at an internet type of purchase. After reviewing all inputs here-- I believe I will look for one I can actually put my hands on. Also I have .45 colt dies, bullets, etc. and believe that will be adequate f...

Re: Rossi .454 question
Gosh fellas THANKS for all the good info. There is a lot of food for thought here and you bring up thoughts and suggestions I would have never considered. I guess my interests lean more to the .45 Colt, but I wanted the extra oomph if I needed it (primarily thinking larger black bears). Certainly my...

Rossi .454 question
I have recently taken an interest in Rossi lever actions. I am particularly curious of the .454 caliber. Am I correct in assuming that this model would handle both the .45 colt and the .454? Any information you might share would be appreciated.

I do know the sights are plenty high for 12 gauge slugs the gun shoots about a foot high, but it's centered within acceptable group patterns. I believe the...

Re: OT: best TV episode of all time
Idahoser, Thanks for the memories! We lived just south of the City when the show aired, near Gary Sandy's family home in Ky. One summer, Gary brought Loni Anderson along to a family reunion & picnic at a family residence, whose lawn faced out to the only central highway in the county. Man the wh...

Re: Reloading .35 REM
Thanks O.S.O.K.! I figured there was a reason these bullets were not feasible for the 336 --- I was just curious what that reason might be. Thanks Again, JR5

Reloading .35 REM
Found some old Hornady .358 Round Nose 250 grain bullets on the shelf today. Since I own two .35's (a Marlin 336 & a JC Higgins 45) does anyone have a good load for this heavy of a bullet? I have been using H335 and Varget for my 180 and 200 grain loads. I would appreciate any suggestions. JR5
