I'm kind of partial to either my grandfather's Remington Model 721 or my Ruger Hawkeye both being chambered in 270 Winchester. Light recoil for the power that it has and shoots flat as well.

I own a Bushmaster AR15A2 20" HBAR. I personally prefer the 20" over the 16" because of the added velocity. While many may disagree (this is personal opinion and is based only on speculation and no real life experiance) I try to stick with a 20" barrel and prefer 55 grain rounds....

Usually have at least a Glock 23 in 40S&W on my hip in an IWB holster. If I'm carrying something other than that except for when hunting during deer season, its usually just a Ruger 10-22 with a 1-4x scope or H&R in 410. For a big bore sixgun I tend to like my 5.5" Super Blackhawk in 44...

Everything that I have seen says that the 1:12 twist is best for 55 grain and under. I had a Remington 700 SPS Tactical that had a 1:12 twist and it wouldnt shoot a bullet over 55 grains worth anything. I'd get maybe 2.5 inch groups.

Henrys are fine firearms. Very solid. However as others have already stated they are very heavy in the larger calibers. I have shot the Big Boy in 45Colt and own a 22 magnum frontier model. If you go with the 30-30 I would get it in a old Marlin 336 or 94 Winchester. If you go with the 357 I would g...

I think its interesting that people will consider a 125 grain hollowpoint adequate for self defense against a 250 pound human but a 140 pound deer requires a heavier bullet. I'd say 1911 and M1A. The handgun would mainly be used for defensive use I'm guessing and thats what the 1911 was designed for. The M1A could serve as a rifle for social use or as a deer rifle. It would especially work well for the latter if you were to put a scope on it.

They said the 223 TAP ammo did poorly. One round pierced and collapsed a lung and the other pierced the aorta. There were two different weight bullets used in the M4. 55 grain and 72 grain. They do not indicate how many of each weight were fired into the subject. I'm guessing it might not have been ...

Well, in the event that the rifled musket isnt suitable for hunting, how would a .69 caliber 1816 Harpers Ferry conversion Musket do? Has anyone used a similar setup for deer or hogs? To me it seems like it would be essentially a trade gun but with a caplock instead of flint lock.
