Try 'em without the gas checks, they might be inhibiting bumping up the bullet. Also, hard cast might just be too hard! I don't shoot gas checks and only 25 to1 alloy . I shoot these 2 gun in SASS/CAS matches I can't get the Marlin to slick up as good as the Rossi , But the Marlin breaks down 5 times easier for cleaning . I would look around for a older 32 spec it will hold it value better then a commemoratives gun which lose over half value when it shot . And both are priced around the same . And for cast bullets 1 in 16 twist is perfect in the 32 sp , alot better that the 1 in 12 for 30-30 . I found IMR4227 around...

This stock is maple and stained with chromium trioxde or I should say acid burn . This is REAL curly maple and I didn't do the torch trick to this one .
