Re: Need photos of M71
Thanks for pictures and comments. I must say that the deluxe pre-war sling bases are really beautiful! And the standard ones are for sling hooks, aren't they? :) The most attractive would have been to mount original pieces, but they are hard to get. A second alternative is to get something that goes...

Need photos of M71
As I am going to refurbish my tinkered M71 and put new swivel eyes on it, I would really be thankful if some kind person here could take a pair of close up pictures of the original swivel eyes of a M71 and add them in this thread.

The dishwasher trick may work, but the problem is that some previous tinkering owner has grinded half the wood away with rasp and rough sandpaper. Here we have only canada and greylag geese. They drop fine for a 3" #4 or #2 lead through a modified choke, and #2 or BB steel will be as good.

The last time I have had some accuracy issues with my Winchester 88, post -64 .308, detachably scoped with a Swarovski 6x42. Earlier it did shoot 1" @100 yds, but now it only does so with the first magazine's four rounds. When the barrel gets hot, it starts to climb downwards. Supposedly the ba...

It depends a lot on the fit of the rifle which recoil one can handle. Personally, I have had four rifles in .30-06 or the equivalent 8x60 Mauser. They have been soft to shoulder, except a Husqvarna 1640, which kicked like a wild donkey. That rifle had a very low comb and a high mounted scope. I chan...
