We interrupt this program.....
I was right at the end of a favorite TV show when my wife calls from the other room. There was a sense of urgency in her voice so I figured what the heck I can catch the program again sometime and went to see what she wanted. She was on the Amazon site and on the screen were boxes checked for Big Bo...

Too bad you can't have a mold made with a hollow center core. Then you could insert a precut tungsten rod to give it strength and weight. Or maybe you could have a mold made that holds the rod as the tin is poured in. Too bad Barnes doesn't license out their Silvex formula to commercial bullet caste...

SD and BC for the Barnes XPB pistol bullets is why I bought a SBH instead of a Blackhawk in .45 Colt. The 225 gr 44 mag bullet has the same SD as the 250 gr 454 Casull bullet and much better BC. Plus, per Barnes the 225 gr bullet will hold together in both 44 mag carbine and 444 Marlin rifle velocit...

It could also be skewed by the fact that Winchester/USRAC is no longer making the Model 94 and Model 70, since their favorite choice was not available. To me the M70 Featherweight was the all time rifleman's rifle. It is purely subjective but I always had a soft spot for a slender stock with a strai...

These alloys conform to the impurity requirements of J-Std-006 and RoHS. Use this solder ...

It is amazing that not one of the PINHEADS that passed this ruling cared about people who eat the game that is shot with lead core bullets. No one eating venison ever wondered, gee where did the 30 gr of lead go when the recovered bullet was 120 gr instead of the original 150 gr. Most hunters try to...

The solution is so simple. Get a Marlin Cowboy. Put the largest mercury recoil reducer you can find in the buttstock. Get a spring for a guide gun. Get some copper tubing that will just fit inside the magazine tube and cut it to reduce the number of from 9 rounds to 4 rounds. Fill the tubing with mo...

Crimping bullets without a crimp groove in the 45 Colt
I want to load the Barnes .451 300 gr Expander MZ bullet in the 45 Colt cartridge. There is no crimping groove because it is intended to be used with a sabot in a .50 cal muzzle loader. Per Barnes it is the same as the XPB pistol bullet design without the crimp groove. I assume that you wouldn't use...

Yellowhorse, I was at A Place to Shoot when a fire started from ammo. They brought 40 trucks and 3 helicopters and billed $11,000 - not what a range wants. Anybody use the Barnes 300 gr TSX 45-70 bullet?
I was going to use cast bullets for hunting but then the ever present do gooders got a ban on lead bullets in the range of the California Condor. I figure as they increase their range, the areas in which lead bullets may be used will decrease. Hence, the all copper Barnes bullet. Anyone have any rea...

I saw a diagram of a hog's vitals but can't remember where. The advice was to shoot through the shoulder, not behind it. On a deer the vitals are behind the front shoulder, on a hog the vitals are between the shoulders. This is for a picture perfect broadside shot. If the hog was at an angle you wou...

Just cut the front of the Triple Shock X bullet until the tip is the same size as the tip on a Winchester Silvertip for the 30-30.
