Re: Gander Mountain Coming to town
I refuse to shop at Gander Mountain anymore First of all they are WAY OVER PRICED and two when the NRA had booked some Pro Scott Walker work shops in several of their store meeting rooms in WI GM caved in to anti Walker forces and told the NRA they had to move their meetings they could not have them...

Re: Appropriate Scope for a Marlin Lever
Found a pic of my Guide gun with the Weaver 1.5 x4.5 scope. Pic is the first deer I shot with the Guide Gun and the scope combination. 190 ranged yards with two rangefinders. Pic is before we gutted out the doe and I just put my rifle down on her and snapped the picture. The 45/70 cartridge was one ...

Re: Appropriate Scope for a Marlin Lever
I have an older Weaver 1.5 to 4.5 that is perfect on my Model 95 Guide Gun. I would recommend a compact scope that is variable in that range. Good woods scope on the lower powers and the 4.5 is good enough for longer distances.

Re: This EVIL THING reared it's head again and NOW I'm over it !
-6pt-sika I was toying with a AR purchase also and it was briefly. As far as a bad times/combat gun I figured why buy an other gun my Model 94 Winchester 30/30 rigged with scout set up and a red dot sight will do nicely and won't cost me much to do that I already have two dot sights laying around d...

Re: Winchester 94 w. Leupold forward mount--Now w. range report
OK I did some thinking on this Williams makes a dove tail blank that is already threaded with a set screw to tighten up the blank in the dove tail. The set screw tightens the blank to the dove tail. A Scope base for a Remington 742 and similar Remington semi autos has the right curvature to mate to ...

Re: Stamped lifter
Kinda what I thought guys and thanks Griff for pointing out it is carrier instead of lifter I have heard it referred to a lifter and posted that before I looked at a exploded parts drawing and saw it was carrier last night. I guess some where down the line I will buy a replacement carrier to have on...

Re: Winchester 94 w. Leupold forward mount--update
How does that attach besides the forearm Ring? The dovetail? I had thought about making a mount with a dove tail filler piece drilled and tapped with one hole and a hole in the band for a mount.

I have a 94 made in 64 with the stamped lifter is it a issue like some claim and should be replaced with a replacement lifter or are they ok and leave it as is?

Re: Williams peep on a Winchester 94 issue
That top mount sight, the FP 94AE is not correct for your 1970 gun. You want the FP94/36. I would not get the Firesight front. For MY eyes it destroys the precision of the peep sight system. Hobie I use the firesight front sight with a Williams side mounted peep on my Model 94 and I think its great...

Re: Peep sight on an old WIN 94 How much damage for collector pr
Well Pepe I was wondering about my gun that Redfield is a nicer sight than the cheaper Williams on my 94 though it still does the job. To be honest I have never seen one (Redfield like dads) at a gun show yet if they do show up they must get snapped up quick.

Re: Peep sight on an old WIN 94 How much damage for collector pr
Dad's gun had the peep with the rounded knobs on it. Nice sight. I like it better than the cheaper Williams sight on my 94. I suppose that the williams sights are tapped different which is too bad as if I ever found a Redfield reasonable I would like to put it on my 94. Any one know if they are tapp...

Re: Peep sight on an old WIN 94 How much damage for collector pr
The guns not going to leave the family. My nephew is basically trying to find out values of his dads and my dads guns ( and his own) for insurance purposes. Hillbilly the local gun shop said 75 to a hundred bucks for those Redfield sights I have no idea if that is lowball or not.

Re: Peep sight on an old WIN 94 How much damage for collector pr
Its a long story I initially inherited it from dad which of course my brother resented as he was the oldest. He eventually wound up with it due to some deal with mom as he helped her out of a bind and he wanted the 94 as payment which caused some friction with me but oh well. Water over the darn now...

Peep sight on an old WIN 94 How much damage for collector pr
Now I doubt this gun will ever leave the family but my nephew just inherited my Dad's Winchester model 94 Carbine that was made back in the 20's All origional Except for a Redfield Peep sight and I suspect a Marbles Front sight to match up to the Redfield. Grade wise I would say 60% as the reciever ...
