I'd say that peice is soldered there so the sear doesn't catch in the half cock notch..With a fine trigger pull the sear doesn't move very far before it cleard the full cock notch, and sometimes doesn't get out of the way of the half cock notch when the hammer falls..Whether this mod is factory or n...

Using pure lead will be difficult if you are trying to cast grease grooved bullets because pure lead doesn't want to fill out everywhere in the mold..You'll get places on the bullet where the bands are not filled out..Go to a 30-1 or 40-1 lead/tin mixture & you'll get bullets that will fill out ...

Yep ..I belonged to a neat sportsman's club... people shooting there for years & years...But the area gradually got built up and sure enough the shooting range got closed down because the owner got tired of hearing all the stupid sniveling jerks that moved in by a shooting range

I ringed the barrel of my dads Springfield 22 back when I was a kid using Federal 22s..They were the cut rate cheap brand back then..It stayed just as accurate as it always was..but I did quit using Federals for a long time..I've seen ringed barrels that one couldn't detect the ring with a tight pat...

Leverluver...I'm running that bullet thru my Win 73 & they're waay to long.. by about 60 thou..I"ve experimented with bumping the bullet shorter, but it's pretty radical to get one short enough..Strains the Lubrisizer too..

Be sure you are firing it out of direct sunlight from the side..glare on the blade can make it shoot toward the sunlight .. nothing to worry about if the sun is at your back tho...
