A slight thread drift here, but does anyone else remember the reason why John Wayne had to quit playing football for U.S.C.? I believe he had a lower back injury. I am going to watch that auction also. If it sells I am going to buy a bunch of 94's. That is a sub $250 rifle in my area. Definitely not worth $300 in my area. You can pick up Pre-64's for $450 or less around here. Especially one day after the end of deer season. Tom.

I like a mixture of marinate of soy sauce, teriyaki, Worcestshire, brown sugar, and liquid smoke. I usually marinate for 48 hours. The longer the better.

I never fool with the burger for jerky. don't like it. I like to slice the steak thin and long. Then de-hydrate. But not too dry. Tom.

I have one from LeverGuns Leather on my Low Wall in 45 Colt. I have it on there because of the crescent butt plate. If not for that crescent butt plate I would never put one on a rifle. I cast a Lyman 405 grain bullet. But any good 405 cast bullet will do. Back it up with 40.0 grains of RL-7, and a good crimp. Works great for me. Although I could make a good case that 40.0 grains of RL-7 is more power than one needs for deer. Tom.

Guys I am about to load some Gallery Loads for my 45 Colt. These shells will be shot from a new(to me) 10" Contender. I use Red Dot in my 44 magnum and 45-70 for Gallery Loads. I would also like to use Red Dot for my 45 Colt gallery Load. I am thinking 3.0 grains of Red Dot should do the trick....
