Re: Looking for parts for Old style Uberti 1866

Back in Business. I wish I would have taken a picture of what was given to me in the beginning. This thing was in a bag of parts missing several pieces. Uberti has changed the inner workings since this one was produced probably in the 60s or 70s. Finding parts was a lot of fun. The hammer spring fee...

Winchester 94 Issue

Ran across a Winchester 94 Ranger Ae in the box. Gun looks new, unfired with tag still attached. The issue is when closing the action the Lever link plate is not seating flush with the bottom of the receiver. Some times the locking lugs seem to bind when coming up into battery. A fellow here in Georgia had one recently in fair shape asking $1300. He had no takers. I paid $825 for one off an auction site several years ago. It had been D/T and a recoil pad installed. The D/T didn't bother me since I planed on hunting with it. I wished it hadn't had the recoil pad installed m...

I've never had a 25-35 but if one just happen to cross my path I would. I recently picked up a sweet 1956 Mannlicher Schoenuer full stock carbine in .257 Roberts. It was the first of it's kind I had ever seen. I still have not had a chance to check on accuracy. The rifle is so pretty I'm almost scar...

If there isn't room in the gun safe, it means time for another gun safe. I only cull them to the least used safe. Never know when it will come back in style. I have never heard anyone say "I'm glad I got rid of that -----" unless it was no good.

Easy. Invite me hunting in your yard. I can assure you there won't be a moose, elk, deer or bear within 10 miles of your house. Now squirrels and small noisy birds will be coming out of the wood work.

Re: Browning model 71 Carbine

The 71 was an updated 1886 action but the 348 cartridge is a necked down 50-110 case. It failed in the marketplace because this rifle does not accept conventional scope mounts. So-called average gun buyer didn't want a heavy recoiling top ejecting elk rifle. Marlin filled this gap very nicely with ...

Bore looks rough but I have not put any elbow grease in it yet to see how it will turn out. wood had been refinished and looks descent but does have some over sanding at the toe. I believe a little metal work to level it would help.
