I just emailed the powder company about the blue dot and was told that because of a different method of pressure testing combined with recent primer mixture changes, 41Mag is still considered a bad idea with Blue Dot.

Interesting about Blue Dot and low pressure. I've got a full 4 lbs sitting unused since Hogdon gave it the heave-ho in the 41 mag. Is there any published data with it for 38 WCF?
I still haven't found anything to beat 6.5 gr Unique, though, for accuracy in the old Marlin 1889.

Interesting it's 5 bucks on Gunbroker's Numrich offering; yet it's $53 on Numrich site. Maybe I'll use it for a yard decoration on the fence out by the BBQ, next to the lucky horseshoe or something.

He was born in and lived in the house cross the street, here in Santa Cruz, CA since 1950 or so, but he spent a lot of time in Alaskan wilderness, photographing.

Mine, an octagon barreled from the 1920s, has an action as smooth as butter with accuracy to match using the original tang peep sight. A wonderful lever action!
I am "limited" to standard velocity because of the old bolt style.
I can't speak as to the later 39A models since I don't have one.

Three ring binder "hole re-enforcement rings" work great painted w/ a black marker pen.
