Re: New 1886 Browning is on the way!

I only hope the trigger is better on this one than the one that came on my High Grade SRC. That one was heavy and gritty until I had an action job done on it. Now it is just under 3 pounds and crisp. In spite of the trigger the SRC was pure eye candy and shoots tight groups. It has accounted for sev...

New 1886 Browning is on the way!

Hooray! I decided a while back I needed to get an 1886 Browning High Grade Rifle to go along with my 1886 Browning High Grade SRC. I asked on the classifieds here and Joe Reilly was helpful to tell me he had seen one on Auction Arms. At any rate I got it and it will be delivered to my dealer for pic...

1886 Browning

I have a great Browning 1886 SRC High Grade. I have made a few modifications to it and it is my favorite hunting gun these days. As much as I like it I have always liked lever action rifles over lever action carbines. Does anyone here have experience with the 1886 Browning rifles. How do they balanc...

I guess it would be a solution to an over run population of coyotes. Release some sterile wolves and run out the coyotes. Course then you would have to release sterile cougars to run off the wolves and then sterile lions to run off the cougars and so on...

Scotch Brite pads work very well. If you use the same color on each gun they will end up matching. These are what Freedom Arms recommends for touching up one of their premiere grade guns if it gets a scratch. I think they use the maroon pads.

OK, I'll pay along. For me, it has to be the 1886 Winchester. They may be a little heavy for some, but they just feel "right" in my hands. Their silky smooth actions are a pleasure to use and the original calibers offered are sufficient to take most North American big game. 1886 Wincheste...

I like the Barnes 200 Grain DPX for my 44 Special carry load. I load them to 900 fps out of my 396 Night Guard Smith. Tried them out on several feral hogs. They penetrate 8 to 10 inches, expand to over .75 inches and hold together exceptionally well. Recovered weight is always within a few grains of...
