Re: Longmire season 4 on Netflix
I'm pretty sure in an one early episode he had a levergun with a brass receiver. Probably a Henry.

Black eyed peas for us.
This year they were accompanied by smoked ribs and smoked mac and cheese.
Should be a good year!

Thanks.
To celebrate I took my '94 trapper with its new Skinner sight to the range.
Good way to spend a birthday.

Re: 45 colt hunting load for both 94AE and SAA clone
JdeF,
Thanks for the tip.
I'll give Lohmans a call tomorrow (website didn't specify what was in stock).
Maybe the powder Gods will smile on me for once.

Re: 45 colt hunting load for both 94AE and SAA clone
A timely topic for sure. My go to load had always been a 250 gr cast over 17 gr of 2400 (giving me 900 fps out of my Blackhawk, not sure out of my '94 or '92). So this Christmas I gave one of my leverguns to one of my sons (I parted with Rossi with 16" bbl in 45, which after some work had a nic...

Re: Happy with your Rossi 92?
Consider using a Williams FP site. They are easy to install (I posted a thread here on it a couple years ago). They equate to about a 4x scope to me, in terms of increased accuracy versus regular 'open' sights anyway. Nice idea. I don't think I will be tapping my sideplate since I don't own a drill...

Re: Happy with your Rossi 92?
A little late to the discussion, but my 92 in 45 Colt has served me well. It WAS stiff out of the box. I got Steve's excellent video and did everything on there except I could not get the get the punch pin out of the ejector so I wasn't able to replace the spring. Ruined three punches trying. Howeve...

Thanks, I'll give Winchester a try on Monday.
Griff - Unfortunately mine is in 45 Colt. Probably qualifies as a pistol caliber.

Re: Did find some .22 LR today
Visiting the in-laws in Alabama. I am dangerously close to being out of 22 LR and havent seen any for about 3 months up north. So I went to every gun store in town. The last one had boxes of 525 for sale (one per customer). I'm going back tomorrow for another. Larry's in Huntsville if anyoine is in ...

In need of a part for one of my '94s
I have a 94 AE Trapper in 45 Colt that i picked up used a little while ago. I'm down in Alabama doing some shooting (and visiting with the inlaws) but unfortunately the carrier snapped without warning. I've been to the usual places (Midway, Numrich, Brownell's, midwest gunworks, Nu-line Guns) withou...

Re: Thinkin pocket guns.......
Rihmfire, Ive got a Bond Arms in 45/410. It is a little much to handle in such a small package. It also doesn't shoot very well. Light loads with 200 gr bullets tend to keyhole. I guess not enough barrel to stabalize the bullet. I keep it loaded with OO buck shot. But even with that, at 15 yards and...

Re: .44spl loads in .44mag cases with 700x
I have used 700x for years in my 45 Colt. Years ago I was working up a light plinker load that my boys could shoot too. After trying various powders (red dot, Bullseye, Unique, 700x) with a 200 gr SWC, the 700x produced better accuracy than the others (mith my gun and that particular bullet). I use ...

Re: Guns that mean the most to you?
Have to saythe Belgian made Browning auto 5 my father gave me when I was 16. Spent a LOT of time alone with her in the woods. Didn't kill much, but I will never part with that gun. Next would be my Ruger Blackhawk (45 colt). Great gun and it was the first gun that I bought for myself. I had to scrap...

Re: Any Lee 1000 users out there?
Big sky - The case is moving as far back as it can but still tilting forward as if the table wasn't level (which it is, I checked). Try cleaning the shellholder recess where the rim of the case fits in. Use a tooth pick etc. Also check and make sure the rims of the cases are clean. Tumbling media du...

Any Lee 1000 users out there?
Recently got one. I've been using the Lee turret for nearly 20 years without problems, but was lured by more speed of the Lee 1000. Everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT when the case is first loaded, it does not line up with the deprimer/resizer. It is not the indexing since it is lined up sid...

Re: Loads for hot (Ruger Only) 45 Colt
Several years ago I contacted John Linebaugh about what to feed my Blackhawk. He sent me a list of pressure barrel tested loads for this and similar guns. His preference is for H110 and W296 as he claims to be able to gain significant velocity without a pressure rise. I suspect he will still supply ...

Re: New to forum. Questions about model 94.
Update: I bought and replaced the link. J Miller's post was right on with the link pin. Took it to the range for the first time yesterday and...round under the carrier jam. After about three more attempts with the same results, I noticed that the semi-wadcutters I was using seemed to be hanging up i...

Re: Do you rember when you 1st reloaded?
Started as a newly wed. Before we got married, I went to meet the future Mrs' family. She has 5 brothers and all are shooters. I woke up on Thanksgiving morning to the sound of gunfire. I went out to check things out and saw at least 20 guns from TC contenders to AR 15s. Needless to say I proposed s...

Thank you both for the prompt replies.
Just to be sure, J Miller, you said to push out the pin from the side without ridges, or should I push it out from the side with ridges, pushing it away from the ridges? The answer is probably obvious, but I'd hate to mar an otherwise beautiful gun!

Re: New to forum. Questions about model 94.
I was referring to the pin that connects the link to the finger lever about two thirds of the way back on the link.
I did find the screw you are referring to since it appears to be the only way to remove a round from under the carrier.

New to forum. Questions about model 94.
I am new to this forum but look forward to gleaning some wisdom from you all. I have always loved leverguns and currently own three. I have a specific question about my latest acquisition, a late model Winchester 94 AE Trapper in 45 colt. It has the dreaded "round under the carrier" proble...
