Re: .22Mag.

I am fortunate enough to own a Legacy 9422 M. I generally use Remington hp and psp 40 gr ammo. The psp groups me 1.5" on average at 100 yards. HP seems to do a touch over 2". The Remington is $12.99, while the cheapest 9mm brass is a solid $15 for 50. From reading, both 9mm and 22wmr seem ...

Re: Leveraction prospects: need some advice

Leaving NY won't happen anytime soon , sadly. What is needed to sell stuff at a PA gunshow? Peddler's permit, commissions? Any tricks to get it done? Any advice is welcomed as it helps me towards acquiring new lever actions.

Re: Leveraction prospects: need some advice

PA gunshow sounds like a good idea, especially since I have some colt mags and over 700 rounds of good 5.56 ammunition to get rid of as well. Do you just show up or there is a registration process to follow? Vendor license, table fee or anything?

Re: Leveraction prospects: need some advice

Actually trying to get rid of my AR. Got it to enjoy it, not squirrel it away. Probably gonna have to travel to PA or VT to trade it in. From what I understand about the new NY laws, it can't be passed to anyone in NY. Hope I can atleast get rid of it out of state. All disposable income is tied up i...

Leveraction prospects: need some advice

I am looking at obtaining a Rossi 92 .357, but just wanted some wise words first. Now that there is a bit of gun mania out there, are leveractions still obtainable? Only 30-30s in my immediate area of central NY. Would an 8 in the tube large loop carbine be subject to the stupidity of Cuomo? Is 357 ...

Re: Cold winter walk

Beautiful woods, probably not too different than ADK in New York. Looks like spruce, fir, aspen, birch and couple other hardwoods mixed in. Any jack pine or white pine present? Coldest I've experienced is minus 38 F. My warmest clothes weren't good enough. Eyelids try to freeze shut, and your drippy...

Re: Classifieds forum rules have been updated...

I had a classified post deleted. Just for future posts, was it that I used "wts" and not "fs"? Or did I do the btt bump wrong?

I am sorry, force of habit to say wts from my computer gaming days.

Re: What do you want a self defense round to do?

I do not have a pistol permit, so my home defense choices were fairly limited.
Ultimately purchased a Mossberg 500 pistol grip. The tube holds 5. First 2 are #4 shot, and final 3 are 00 buck.
If that doesn't ruin the bad guys day....God help me

Re: newer 94ae: need sighting advice

I have some rubber can opening pads that should protect the metal while using the vice. Thank you for the constructive advice. Kinda opens my eyes to the force needed to move the rear sight. Already cut up my old brass shotgun cleaning rod to make a nice, solid punch of substantial width

Re: newer 94ae: need sighting advice

Many excellent ideas. I take it the vice clamps down on the sides of the receicer walls? Only thing I've used my vice for is sharpening my chainsaw. Was always worried about damaging the rifle, so never tried a metal punch...have some older brass cleaning rods I can cut up to make a nice, large punch.

I cannot believe that those firearms were destined to become paperweights like that. Some I understand, better than melting down, but historic bolt guns
? I don't have $500-700 for even a fair condition SMLE.

newer 94ae: need sighting advice

I have a 94ae 44 mag, probably manufactured in 2004. Using a wood dowel and mallet, i can't move the rear dovetail sight to adjust, forced to move the front sight under the hood all the way right. Recoil causes the front sight resting against the hood to move and recenter in its dovetail. Are there ...
