Re: Cimarron Model 1892
Like I said, I would post some range results regarding my new rifle. Just got it out there yesterday, and in a nutshell, it was superbly smooth, functioned well, acurrate, and got a few compliments on appearances. I couldn't be happier. The rounds I made up (11.5 & 12.5 grains of blue dot and 16...

Re: Cimarron Model 1892
I second that, the gun is quite an accurate replica of the orriginals, no warnings, no saftey (other than the hammer half cock), etc.

Re: Cimarron Model 1892
Its a .45 colt. I'm definitely looking into getting a leather butt plate, not just for length of pull but for recoil as well. Should be fun to shoot.

Cimarron Model 1892
Hello all, The purpose of this post is to give a quick review on the Cimarron/Armi Sport Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle. I've noticed that the enternet is quite lacking in commentary about this particular gun, probably because it is so new on the marketplace. I hope this helps with any perspective bu...

Re: lee sizing die question
i dont need to, im just thinking about what will happen after I fire it and want to load it again. However, I got a good opinion from someone. If my rounds turn out ok in the end, I might just attach the thing to a drill an file it down a bit. just needs to be a hair smaller to fit into the round.

Re: lee sizing die question
thanks, ill try leaving the die 1/4 in. from the base to minimize the effect. Just depends on how the bullet seats whether I try and fix the problem or not, just need a chance to cast some more boolits. However, the decapping die is also the resizing die, and the lee case trimmer requires that the p...

lee sizing die question
I recently set up my lee challenger press and wanted to test the lee decapping and resizing die on some new brass before I primed it. I have new starline 45 colt cases and lee resizing lube. I tightened the die to where it was just touching the shellholder. after sending one through the die, I notic...

Re: Boolit Loob Suggestions
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll check out the sites y'all linked. Sounds like pretty much any commercial lube will be fine and the homemade beeswax lubes are better than the one I want to make. Honestly I'm not sure if it really matters but ill try a few and hopefully post results. Still l...

Boolit Loob Suggestions
Hey guys, i'm getting into reloading 45 colt and was wondering what loob should be used with some of the hotter loads using cast boolits. I will be using cast 300 grain LFN with gas checks over 16-19 grains of 2400 or 22-23 grains of H110 (will depend on finding the sweet spot for each powder) and w...

Re: IMR 4227 vs. H4227
Have you had any forceing cone erosion using lil'gun (great powder, but burns really hot). I've been wary about using it because of horrer stories heard via other posts, reports, etc.

Re: Loads for hot (Ruger Only) 45 Colt
Just one more person saying that you can't load H110/W296 down much. Those 2(actually the same 1) powders are not reliable when loaded light and might give a firearm damaging detonation if loaded too light. That said, I have found them to be very accurate in my Ruger .45 with the 4 5/8 inch barrel....

Re: Loads for hot (Ruger Only) 45 Colt
thanks, it does seem like the 2400 is a good powder. Unlike the h110 and other slow burners, you can load it down to the 16 grain level no problem. I may use magnum primers to try and ignite the slower burners though. only range results will tell.

IMR 4227 vs. H4227
Im gonna be reloading for the 45 colt and am really interested in IMR 4227. seems like a good powder. However, Hodgon's reloading book only mentions H4227. Just wondering if the two are currently the same or different.

Re: Loads for hot (Ruger Only) 45 Colt
thanks for the info, ill do that as soon as I can. Anyone have any experience with imr 4227. Seems like a great powder giving high velocity w/o the increaced pressure and slow burn rate of the h110.

Loads for hot (Ruger Only) 45 Colt
Hey guys, I am new at reloading and am just looking for a little advice regarding loads for a 45 colt. I want to make up some rounds for a cimarron model 1892 levergun with 24in barrel. My goal is to make up some general purpose loads good for both hunting and target with cast 300 grain WFP GC booli...
